Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to acquire, lead and conduct projects to support Philips businesses and external companies in improving integral Quality, Cost and Delivery targets.

You are responsible for

  • Acting as a sparring partner at executive, managerial and shop floor levels, providing value through building winning solutions with clients and solving issues in the area of supply chain management (SCM);
  • Taking overall responsibility to craft and lead supply chain-related improvement programs/projects including implementation and achievement of sustainable results;
  • Working alone or leading a team of consultants and client team members;
  • Building and strengthening your customer network to convert opportunities into a profitable portfolio of projects for yourself and colleagues;
  • Spotting trends in your client industries and combine these trends and new competences to continuously improve our service propositions
  • Playing a vital role in growing the Industry Consulting group´s expertise by keeping up with the latest developments in SCM and by building a network of contacts and resources

This role requires a high level of flexibility with regard to travel and staying abroad. The duration and frequency of these stays are not predictable, but the high frequency and/or a stay for a longer period have to be taken into account.

The department Industry Consulting at Philips Innovation Services is a dynamic group of approximately 70 consultants with growth ambition. Our customers are leading in operationalizing their strategic ambitions in and across key areas of their business: Innovation, Supply Chain and Operations Management taking an integral approach.

In Supply Chain Management, we help our customers to assess, discover and implement the best Supply Chain solution that meets their overall business objectives. The typical projects in this field relate to its broadest sense, like supply chain strategy and design, cost-modeling, planning and control, improving end to end supply chain processes (Plan-Source-Make-Deliver-Return) and overall change and project management, as integral elements of business excellence. We work with all Philips businesses worldwide as well as with non-Philips companies.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Pragmatic, hands-on and top-tier professional or consultant with a Master’s Degree in a technical, science, business or related subject area;
  • More than 10 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record in the areas of supply chain management;
  • Solid knowledge and experience in supply chain digitization, focusing on analytics, circular/reverse supply chain and/or compliance is a must-have;
  • A solid quantitative background, including experience in applying optimization and/or simulation tools (e.g. MS Access, Excel, SQL, Power BI, LLamasoft SC Guru etc.) and techniques by enabling superior problem-solving is strongly preferred;
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, M2C, D2C, demand planning/forecasting, and Trade compliance;
  • Leading and running supply chain operations yourself;
  • Your consultative approach, customer-minded, communication and your ability to build trust give you a natural affinity with consulting. Consulting experience is an advantage;
  • Validated root cause hands-on experience to resolve timely issues and improvements. In addition, you are able to lead and implement systemic QMS processes resulting in standardizing and improving way of working and provide agile and efficient process across companies;
  • Management and strong leadership skills in a challenging working environment with a proven track record of new project acquisition and of growing key accounts;
  • You have project management experience and skills and are capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams;
  • You are a teammate, open to new insights and believe in a process of continuous learning in order to develop new competencies;
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills, and fluency in English
  • You are willing to travel up to 25- 50 %. You will be based in Eindhoven
