Market Controller Africa

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Play a vital role to drive the financial performance in the Africa Market for Health Systems. You will be challenged to managing the complexities of emerging markets while ensuring robust risk and performance management of the commercial organization. You will drive the strategic and operation planning processes to support the business in executing the go-to-market strategy and driving profitable growth.

You are responsible for

• Leading the financial performance management of Health Systems Africa,
• Ensuring financially sound (strategic) decision making for Health Systems Africa and driving financial performance (P&L Accountability),
• Driving analysis of business performance (OIT, Sales, Margin, Selling Expense and WOCA) and applying lean problem solving to address performance gaps and to identify/implement required countermeasures,
• Leading of the financial review of Large Scale Projects in the Market, as a key member of LSP deal creation and execution team,
• Owning the Strategic and Operational (AOP /Forecast) planning processes and providing related deliverables in line with global deadlines,
• Supporting the Health Systems Africa team at a market and district level in making sound financial decisions and mitigating business risks,
• Preparing and evaluating business cases, as well as communicating conclusions to senior management,
• Managing the performance and professional development of the Health Systems Africa Finance team,
• Executing and monitoring internal controls to ensure the quality and integrity in the financial processes,
• Drive cross functional improvement programs together with Supply Chain, Customer Service, District Leaders, Sales and Business Line Management.

You are a part of

The Health Systems Africa team, reporting to the Market Africa Head of Finance. You will work closely with the Health Systems Sales Leader and the supporting business functions located in Eindhoven, as well as District Leaders/Controllers located across Africa.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with a minimum of 4 years of team management experience,
• Bachelor’s degree with a CPA/CA or MBA preferred,
• Experience in influencing and delivering key business messages at senior levels,
• Change management capability and strong problem-solving capabilities,
• Proven track record of people leadership and team development,
• Effective communicator with ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external parties, and to challenge the status quo,
• Preferred experience with financial reporting and planning,
• Pro-active and hands-on,
• Fluent in English.
